Iceland, one of the UK’s leading supermarket chains has been officially announced as THE BEST PLACE TO WORK IN BRITAIN 2012 by The Sunday Times Best Companies Survey recently.
The company’s website explains that despite having 23,000 staff, working there feels just ‘like home’ and prides itself on the sense of community and common purpose shared by everyone who works there.
Iceland regularly surveys their staff on levels of satisfaction and training and uses those results to improve. In fact, since 2009 when the company came 14th in the survey, it has risen steadily, to no surprise from insiders. Jan Baker, Area Manager for South London says, “I absolutely love working for Iceland – I would and do recommend it to anyone, and I can’t imagine a better company to work for.”
